Girl Scout Gold Award Project

I am a proud Girl Scout member and this is my year to choose what I want my  Girl Scout Gold Award issue to be about. I chose my issue to be about mental health. Nowadays mental health issues are watered down because everybody talks about it. For most people they don't struggle with extreme mental health disorders so they typically don't see the need to have so many discussions about mental health. At times, anyone can struggle with stress and comparing themselves with other people. I find working on art very helpful when I am stressed or frustrated. When I was about to enter my 8th grade year I had to stay one month and five days in the hospital. I had scoliosis where my back was curved to a 100-degree plus curve. While I was at the hospital writing kept me from worrying or being scared about my surgery. Praying also helped me a lot through that time to be strong. I read many books also reading healing scriptures in the Bible made me more strong and at peace. Please come and join me. We bring many art mediums like notebooks for poetry or stories, canvas for paintings, clay for pottery, and scratch paper for drawings. These workshops are completely free just show up and grab a chair.

First Workshop is October 26
